PHASE 2 of the project “Bioeconomic approach of antimicrobial agents – usage and resistance” assumed “Testing methods and technologies for the surveillance of antimicrobial preparations usage and resistance”.

In this phase each project and each partner has performed their proposed objectives, either individually or through activities conducted within the consortium. Thus:

Within Project 1 in the cooperation coordinator with the Partners 1 (Timişoara County Emergency Clinical Hospital ), 2 (West University Timisoara) and 3 (Babeș Bolyai University from  Cluj Napoca) the activities conducted were i) a transversal investigation regarding the usage of antimicrobial preparations in the trophic chain, ii) and a study regarding epidemiological markers of the antimicrobial agents undergoing screening. Furthermore a study regarding the social perception on the resistance phenomenon to antimicrobial preparations was developed in collaboration with partner 3.

Project 2 developed research with reference to i) obtaining mono- and polymicrobial biofilms with the populational dynamic study, ii) use of certain dedicated software and advanced imagistic techniques for the three dimensional quantification of mono- and polymicrobial biofilms, iii) comparing the microbial resistance in biofilms, as well as iv) identification of certain markers which facilitate the identification and approach to resistance to agents with v) evaluation, quantification and characterization of resistance markers, as well as vi) evaluation of the changes occurred on a genomic and extra genomic DNA level.

Project 3 conducted by the coordinator together with Partner 1 (Timişoara County Emergency Clinical Hospital ), Partner 2 (West University Timisoara) and Partner 4 (Research and Development Institute for Meadows Brasov ) has developed i) a report regarding the infection determinants – clinical markers, as well as ii) a methodology for the approach of infections in rent animals

Project 4 managed in collaboration with Partner 4 (Research and Development Institute for Meadows Brasov ) assumed activities related to: i) contamination and use of garbage, ii) study on the resistance level for the microbes under observation, iii) obtaining and characterizing natural extracts iv) antioxidant protection systems evaluation.

In project 5. Coordinated by Partner 2 (West University Timisoara), the activities conducted together with the coordinator of the complex project also assumed observation on iv) models and techniques considered to be more efficient and faster, v) benefits for using new methods. The activity is finalized with a view on algorithms and network analysis software tools for the identification of RED HUBs.

The activities for the five projects have been performed in accordance with the plan and have been quantified by the following result indicators:
